• Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is a manual technique using a plastic or metal tool or “blade.”

• Your therapist can perform IASTM using a variety of pressures and speeds to help healing and inflammation, facilitate a contraction (turn a muscle on), or inhibit a muscle (turn a muscle off).

• It enables clinicians to effectively and efficiently address soft tissue lesions (scar tissue) and fascial restrictions resulting in improved patient outcomes.
